Couple of years ago, when I first shared the vision for Tech Bytes in this article titled "Vancouver as a TechHub" - never thought we would receive such a tremendous response from the youths.
Today as we speak, we have completed 200+ hands-on STEM workshops focussed on Coding and Design Thinking empowering 500+ participants, 2500+ hours of Coding & Design Thinking.
Youths have actively participated in our STEM workshops covering topics like Animation, Gaming, Graphics, 3D Printing, Virtual Reality, Digital Marketing, Website development, Python, Data Visualization, Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Digital Logic, Embedded System and more.
Our STEM workshops have given students pointers to become creators to create and communicate their own STEM projects which is evident from the active participation in our STEM challenge. Will write in more detail about our STEM challenge shortly.
So what's ahead. Job creation & Entrepreneurship. For any new entrepreneur - besides the core product related skill sets, having knowledge on how to Market their product & having an understanding of Finances to manage company's budgeting are very essential. Reason is, as a new entrepreneur most likely you will not have the luxury of hiring specialists for these skills.
We are already equipping our future entrepreneurs with Digital Marketing related Tech Bytes workshops and we will also focus on Finance going forward. Basically we would like to create opportunities for our participants to be either in a position to become an entrepreneur themselves or have those practical skill sets which are readily sought after by existing entrepreneurs. Job creation & Entrepreneurship.
We would like our participants to be ready for this by the age of 15. Why? Because if you see any Canadian government statistics, they heavily promote job opportunities for youths aged between 15 - 30. So why not, be ready for STEM related opportunities by 15, specifically AI, ML, Data Science related ones. So this is going to be our focus.
Pretty sure, our journey in 2021 and beyond is going to be even more exciting. Come join us.
